4499 make torque at mid to high rpm, 4480(comps) make torque everwhere in the rev range.

4499 are 6>2>1's. The secondaries being 48mm (x2).

4480 are 6>3>1's. The secondaries being 44mm (x3).

The 4480 are sold as a "Competition Header". They should flow a greater volume, having more collective volume after the primary pipes. I think they're more suited for mild to warmly worked motors.

just wondering. if i just buy only the headers themselves. do i just bolt them on or do they need to be welded to cat?

theres a bit of work involved, cause they are a bolt on, but you need to modify the stock cat cause they are longer then the stock extractors.

sorry mate i wasnt refering to the cat question.
i was talking about the 4499's vs 4480's

2 problems with fitting extractors on stock cat
1)the pacemaker extractors are longer then the stock ones so they you need to cut the front tip of the cat off
2)the opening of the cat is smaller then the end of the extractors so u need to cut the standard cat up then flick the ends up to 2.5" to be able to slide the 2.5" tube in to it...

The competitions are tuned length extractors - i.e. all pipes are the same size. At a particular chosen rpm there is therefore maximum efficency (high and low gas pressures - scavenger effect type stuff), and decent efficency getting worse either side of that. The normals don't have this and are just out of tune the entire time.

They're straight replacement bolt onto the head.
BBut the front flange on the cat converter will need to be altered. Possibly the rear aswell.

it really depends, your best option would be to call up a bunch of places and get some quotes.
