Hey
As you guys know I have a 242rwkw GEN3. It really hammers.... I took dads EL Ghia out for a spin over the weekend (my old car) I have to say the EL with the mods as per below is a bloody sensational car. No doubt in my mind the GEN3 will beat it in a straight line but the EL has more than enough punch, is so so comfortable and responsive, just a treat and pleasure to drive. I really love driving it. I goota say that as an everyday driver, the ghia is the better drive, the GEN3 is a hoon mobile on a sunday arvo. Which ford model or any other car do you think is the best all round drive?? state mods as well if you feel they are essential. For mine the EL ghia with mods per below is a 10/10 drive.

I'd love a V8 EL Ghia in black with some 18/19 inch rims (9+ spoked wheels), superlows. Powerful, but reserved sounding exhaust. Darkest legal tint.

id say the brand new GT40 would be a pretty decent drive.

GT my boy, GT, lol. Some F**k wanted a stupid amount of money for the GT40 nameplate (that Ford lost, can't remember how).

I drove John XR6's ED Ghia a while ago, it felt a lot more solid then my EF.
I also drove a mates EL Ghia and while it seemed more responsive, the ED still seemed a little more solid on the road. i think i've worn my car out

Nah, it's cause Cobalt ED's are smiled upon by god man
ED Fairmont is a nice drive. EL Ghias are nice, but, I dunno, never been a fan of speed sensitive power steering. Wilson you're right, ED's do feel a bit more solid on the road for some reason. The ED's just munch up the k's too, they're easily the most comfortable Falcons ever John, seeing as adrians camera is s**t, soon as you start thrashing the 3.9s it's photo time

And this enlightens the lives of the people living in the 6 cylinder workshop forum how?
EB V8 please don't tell me you didn't test other cars before the LS1 SLAP3 Like um, the BA Ghia V8, or G220 perhaps. Even an XR6T. Those cars are in another universe compared to the crude, anything with a letter E in it. You did arr, drive these cars yeah |

Ive driven so many cars its not funny. I like the commodores because they go pretty hard (GEN3), but just rolling around they are not the best drive. I reckon the XR6T whilst it is quick makes its power so linear you dont even think its that quick when your driving it.
The BA v8s have got bugger all down low, too much weight i suppose. Idont know what it is but the EL ghia is a great all rounder.

lol haggis. I didn't pick up on that little bit of irony.
All s**t aside, any big Australian car built by Ford after 2002 is in another universe compared with anything Holden has -->put together<-- so far! Including the LS1 SLAP3. That V8 might be good with an edit, but it's not much good to you after the car it's in falls apart. Can someone SLAP me a high 5, SLAP me on tha low side..... |

A guy in another car club I'm in had a VX SS with 330kW at the rears. Ran a flat 11 in drag The engine lasted about 220000k's, a bit over 100 with that power and no serious engine repairs. Not bad in my book. |
