The coil is numbered.

<----Front.... 1 2 3
..................6 5 4

%99 of leads will have the plug number on it. It's pretty hard to get wrong.

If they can't get it from that, they shouldn't be opening the bonnet and deserve to get it wrong.

Hi guys just replaced the coil pack on my Au falcon .its a pain of a job .good luck
You need to pull out the air box remove clamp and 4x 10mm bolts to get in there in the first place .using a light will help .Unplug all leads remove the wiring plug form the coil pack .remove 3x8mm bolts this is on the Au 2/3 model .slide coil pack to the back towards the fire wall and remove down to the ground or along side of the engine to the front of the car as I did .Then replace the new coil pack as you pull the other one but don't drop the new .lol
On the coil pack it Will have numbers on it for the spark plugs as well the spark plugs will have numbers on them as well .
Straight 6cl engine

Your spark plug leads are numbered
As is the coil pack so each plug lead goes to each number on the coil pack

So each numbered spark plug goes from number 1 one spark plug at the front of the engine ( front of the car ) through to number 6 spark plug at the fire wall end of the engine . 123456 ( at the back of the engine )

Hope this helps the handy man and save some bucks

I got a series 3 Au xr6 just bought it all the leads are all over the place (should have checked them and marked them before i took em off but anyway)marked lead 1 only reaches 4 and 5 so I took them all off to start from scatch THERE ARE NO NUMBERS MARKED ON COIL PACK. I have tried the combination from the front《1,2,3 6,5,4.No good! Missfire missfire backfire. And to avoid any confusion I have a series 1 coil pack which is marked and its a different coil pack.

No the best pic of the coil, but shows you the coil to cylinder numbers. EF and AU coils have the numbers marked on the coil pack. Order is the same for EF, AUI and AUII/III.

Thanks for the pic that shows numbers, the coil pack I have does not have any numbers on the coil pack.
