I pulled this off another Ford AU2 sometime , I'd like to replace the one I have on my car.

Does anyone know the correct name of this item?

Air conditioner accumulator/drier. You would need to have the gas evacuated from your system (can't just release into the atmosphere, you CAN get fined for that) and I would NOT be adding a second hand one of those to my car. You will also need to have the AC re gassed and it would be worth having your system checked out for LEAKS

That accumulator came of a wreck and already had gas taken out apparently.

I wanted to know what it is so I can purchase a new one to get fitted as I don't trust aircon regas places as they tend to charge a lot more for the same item.

One company wanted to charge $1,500.00 to check my system and another said could cost $2,000.00 as they need to strip everything to gain access to check for cracks or blockages.

I wont be paying that price especially on a pension.

Mine workers could probably afford it.
