what is it with people trying to rice up falcons if you want to a nissian engine so bad then buy a f**k nissandont degrade such a great car with a ricer engine. if you do go ahead with your ridiculous plan then dont forgot the giant shopping list on the doors. the 10ft high rear allimuinum wig, and the 723 neons in and under this monterous abomination

Once you've modified a Falcon to go hard you're unlikely to encounter any driveline problems. The factory automatic and 5 speed manual gearbox is very strong. Even the standard clutch can cope with an engine making around 160kW at the wheels. The tailshaft, axles, universal joints and bearings are all up to the task. Improved suspension, brakes and performance wheels and tyres are recommended.

agreed.
though its not a great idea to japerrise a ford (simply looking at ability to haul the bulk of a 'coon), the nissan motors have great merit. true, out of out 4L we can get more on boost than out of the 3L, and it would be a hell of a lot more reliable, but dissing nissan engines is a little unwarranted (holden, on the other hand )

If you MUST have a jap motor in your EL. Lexus 4.0L V8 would be the only motor i would think of.

max power = 210kW @ 6000rpm
max torque = 400Nm (revs i dunno) Enough to haul a 1.770 tonne auto lexus LS400 to 100mk/h in under 7 seconds

Find me an N/A 6 cylinder Skyline that's got over a million kilometeres without ever having the tappet cover removed! There's plenty of Taxis with that, running on there not so well built Ford engines! |

Quote: it would be a waste of time. why the hell would you want a smaller engine? Quote: no VLs have about 300kg less wieght in them. the RB engine just don't have enough torque to make them worth the effort. if you want a turbo engine put a turbo on a falcon I6 Quote: they just don't produce the torque of the falcon engine.
all cut and past from my other posts. and if you notice the common factor here. RB engines DO NOT MAKE ENOUGH TORQUE TO MAKE THEM A WORTH WHILE CONVERSION FOR A FALCON if you want a jap engine use a 1UZFE (4L V8) or a 2UZFE (4.5L V8) |
