Ford EB2 fairmont..
dual fuel pacemaker 4499 metal high flow cat 2.5" redback, single muffler thermofans conversion 5spd manual xh air snorkel + enclosed pod filter wade 977b cam And this saturday getting a j3 chip and dyno tune...what can I expect to make! Also...engine has 300,000 on it. Are there any preventative measures I can take to help prolong its life?

How'd you go mate?
I'd would have pegged it at 150+kw at wheels?

128rwkw...bit lower than i expected, i thought at least 140! Apparently my gas system is very restrictive...so I'm looking to rectify that...
Even so, with the j3 chip and tune it is running so much better and I can feel a lot more power! Pre-tune was 120rwkw, so the tune alone gave me 8rwkw.

Hey look, the peak rwkw is lower than expected. But as you said, "it's running so much better and I feel a lot more power."Even so, with the j3 chip and tune it is running so much better and I can feel a lot more power! Pre-tune was 120rwkw, so the tune alone gave me 8rwkw. If you got a graph with the tune, then you would probably notice at a point around 115-120rwkw that it really just levelled off to a slow rise. Which as your tuner is saying, that is your gas system which is strangling the inlet system. What was your peak torque? And it's rpm point? What was the average torque gain over untuned? Most dyno graphs seem to indicate peak tq about 4000rpm & peak power 5250rpm and little fall off from there with the 977B. Good luck with the rest of the mods/rectification! Phil |

Depending what sort of gas system you have it can make quite a difference.
The one I took off my EF, had a mixer in the elbow of the intake just before the throttle body, this in effect cut the size of the throttle body down to about half original size. Car never felt better once it was gone, if it can't breath, it can't go. There are better mixers out there for performance use that don't restrict like standard ones. |

128rwkw is pretty good with a gas setup, I wouldn't worry about peak to much. You dont have the car at 4000rpm+ anyway (unless your a street racer haha). Aslong as there is a nice gain through mid range thats where your mostly using the power.

Tuning was at CVE performance http://www.cveperformance.com
I looked at the dyno graph. There's actually a constant 15rwkw gain from ~2500rpm-4000rpm!!! Compared to before the tune. SO no wonder I can feel the nice difference in the midrange...i got a whole 15rwkw more now . Doesn't have torque on it unfortunately

Over in skye, was a 50 minute drive for me from templestowe but well worth it I reckon, Paul (the guy who did it) definitely seemed to know his stuff and was very nice and helpful. Also, very impressed with his tune, my car no longer blows smoke on cold starts and no longer makes popping sounds under deceleration, a couple of nice side benefits It was $550 for the chip supplied and tune. So I'd guess tune alone would be like $300ish? Not too sure what the j3's themselves are worth.

Cheers for that mate, Blank J3's are about $80 i think, and pre-tuned around $120 if my memory serves me correctly.
I will definitly go down there in a few weeks time, hopefully it will sort out my idle issues.. Excited to see what kind of power mine will make. Thanks for the info, muchly appreciated |

I was gunna say being a factory dual fuel dont expect much over 130.
If you had straight gas you could knock out 150. |
