Hi All,
Forgive me if there is already a post on this, but from my searches I can't find exactly what I am after, but if there is a link please post. I have recently acquired a 96 Ford EF Futura Sedan. The Thermo fans don't kick into hi speed until 105 degrees, so driving around town, the gauge sits on R or just between R, and O and will sit around 104 to 107. If come to idle, and temp is above 105 degrees, the fans will kick into high speed until below 104/103. I don't think this is normal for a cooling system to be running this high? I have already replaced Coolant, and I replaced the ECU Coolant Temp sensor as I couldn't get the fans to go into high speed before, which I can if I disconnect the ECU Coolant Temp sensor, and then the fans go into high speed. This would tell me the four relays are working okay? ? ? I am wondering is the issue maybe water flow, or ECU? Is this common in this model of Falcon? Thank you. Jim |

if its in the area of the gauge that says normal then its generally considered normal, however some prefer it to run a little cooler, if you want it to run a tad cooler i would change the thermostat to a cooler heat range, to either a 88 deg or 82 deg instead of the factory 91 deg..
also check the radiator between the a/c condensor for dirt and debris that can build up over time |
