ummmm its a minature version under the gaurd, yeah thats right
but i do know there is a vapor canistor under the passenger side gaurd so it could belong to that cheers bear |

there is a canistor under the passenger side gaurd, check to see if it goes to that

Is a good idea to leave it attached... You could notice a fuel like smell coming in your air vents if you disconnect.
But you can re-route it as a lot of us have to clean up the engine bay. It is NOT a wire with shielding. Or, if it is a wire with shielding then it's got me stumped. If this is your engine bay then I guess you have noticed that you have very little in the way of air con pipes in that area, which clutters that portion up so much you may not notice that little pipe on others vehicles?
