So my friend goes to me "I wana buy a VN". "I said, don't be a fag, get some class and buy a falcon."
So he decides he wants an EA (cos he only wants to spend like 2500 MAX).
Then he says "you know fords, come iwth me and check this one out".
It's from some random used car dealership, which I'm totally not cool with, it's 190000km's on the clock <probably wound back> and they want 2600.

What should I look at when I check it and are there any better options? keep in mind he wants to buy the car and be done with it, not buy a fixer upper or an unregistered car you know how it is. thanks all.

I think fellony has a VERY nice EA MPFI forsale still. 2.6k Is extremely exspensive. If you dont mind a little work goto the auctions. My work gets EL's for around the 2k mark that only need a little work ($500) worth and i think thats quite abit better then a EA ;)

i completely agree with you guys, but he just wants to buy something and drive it. I reckon 2600 is ridiculous for an EA. He doesn't have any ideas with cars, and I can't ne f**k workign on his as well as mine.

All EA falcons are rubbish now, tell ya mate to look for a series II EB falcon with the 4litre motor. They are so much better, better build quality, engine, gearbox, engine wiring, etc.............

ball joints, uni joints, head (as above) rockers (open oil cap) if it was lifters, suspensions (as above) Speedo (KM stop clocking over) bonnet struts, boot leaks and RUST

They are still some REALLY nice EA's out on the rd, and parts a plenty of parts around

and dont be a softy and get a manual u'll be way betta off with a manual un less u r gunna spend big $$$ 2 get a 4 spd 2 do good time's!!! if ya dont cook them they r as reliable. my ea has only had the head gasket done once in 208000 km's and still goin strong
