Hey all I just signed up.

I currently have a girl's car (1.5L Lancer) which I've sold -> and I'm shopping for an EL XR6.

I just have a couple of questions...

1) Say I grab CAI, extractors, high flow cat and exhaust what sort of rwkW would I expect and;

2) What would I expect it to get down the quarter in?

welcome! :)

manual or auto? 130-140rwkw would be around what i'd expect, depending on cond of engine/dyno etc etc

1/4 - mid 15's for auto, low 15's for manual - maybe high 14's depending on how you drive etc - something around that though! :wink:

Yeah the one I'm looking at is sub 130000kms and manual of course. I'd prolly fall asleep at the wheel with an auto!
Any other mods you guys recommend?
And no I can't afford a turbo :p.

Thanks for you input btw.

14.8 is damn strong. Yeah I was thinking a cam as well. They're not too pricey are they?

And forgive my ignorance but the XR has an LSD factory yeah? I don't really understand diff stuff given I'm coming from a fwd single spinner.
What ratio is the diff on an el xr anybody?

Just to give you an idea, I have an EF XR6 which I treated with a set of replacement headers, hi flo cat, and stainless 2 1/2" exhaust and she pumped out 132RWK on the dyno. I then purchased a JMM DEV3HL cam and intake kit and it bumped power up to 149RWK.
I haven't put it down the quarter yet, but I'm hoping to see mid 14's.

depends what your goal is. If the car is gonna see more track work, a strengthened auto with stally and shift kit is gonna be quicker than a manual, and most likely stronger to. For street duty and nothing over about 180rwkw, manual would probably be ok!
