Well went on a cruise today! Lost acceleration.. So popped the bonnet to see the accelerator cable melted. The extractors were hot as crazy..
It is a dead stock Ed.. all i got is 4480's and the CAI stuff.. |

(Au sheild is flexible and you can work with it.) or wrap ya new cable in a heat resistance material...

I wouldn't really think the 4480's would cause more heat?? Or am i wrong? |

Is the timing out or the engine running too lean.
2 things that would make the extractors hotter than normal. |

Retarded timing will have fuel still burning in the exhaust instead of in the cylinder = red hot exhaust.

I used to have this problem with my EB Saloon Car. We put a heat proof cover over the cable and also cable tied the cable to the firewall so it was away from the extractors as far as possible and haven't changed a cable since
