hey guys, I'm trying to find info on replacing my ED motor with a EF or EL motor and just wanting to know whats involved in doing this? What do i need?
All the help i get would be appreciated. cheers |

you should have 0 problem's, bolt on the ED mount's and belt set up then drop it in...unless you want to use the serpentine setup and thermo fan's then you have to make a choice of using the EL ECU to control them or a thermo switch. if you choose the EL ECU route you should go all the way using the BBM manifold too. all info you need is here>> documents.php?d=85 you will have to fit a dizzy to the EF it uses a coil pack ignition, no biggie tho just use the ED one.

My first idea was just to do a serpentine belt conversion, ive got thermos sitting here waiting to go in, but lately it seems to me like my engine is getting a little tired so wanted to freshen the car up with a different lower Km motor and still use the cam and pacies that are in my car now

the cam in the EF it should be fine, you may have a problem in a EL engine if it's a hybrid,....hybrid means it has a AU head with EL bottom end.
