yeah right moody there is one ED XR6 drifting in victoria there is a vid of it on vicdrift.com.. its got jmm sponsorship so u can imagine it probalby has a dev 5 cam in it and chip etc..
Im slowly building mine up to be drift friendly. Ideas i ahve is stiff sway bars, get that rear stiff! stiff springs or coilovers hydraluic hand brake, umbrella is too hard around a track lokka diff. lsd's are weak as piss oh and forced incution. I hope to be able to start driftin in january/feb also YTMONT : Quote: You won't get enough power out of it to make a real drifter. Too heavy, too slow
he said he doesnt want to be a real drifter he just wants to have some fun on the track. |

mate just take it out on the track and have some fun... go to a drift day and talk to others, I have seen drag cars drift at the power cruise, complete with front runners....so have some fun before you outlay any big $$$$, once you tried it go from there and start with the basics..
Suspension, then locker diff or spool, some spare rims from the wrecker etc etc... |

yea it's no longer going to be driven on the road so basicially anything goes, on/off button clutch??? please tell me more, does it sorta engage the clutch when you pull the handbrake up? if so then how much, but yea im defiently going to need to get a better handbrake...imagine trying to pull that sucker out and push it in real quick interior will be no problem im sure my mates would be more then happy to attack it, clutch upgrade shoudn't be to hard to find on the nortside of brissy should it? any experiences? with the engine i was sorta heading towards cam, piston, rods upgrade but do i need a bigger intercooler? all help very much apreiciated<--- can't spell cheers all by on or off clutch i mean the type that has no travel or slip, in other words you cant ride it(so no stop start driving), you kinida build up the revs you want n then dump it!!! theres no soft way to take off! the upside is that it will withstand alot more punishment!!!

ok so where can i get a locker diff? can you get em from the wreckers or do you just weld it lockd not to sure on how it works
also should probably ask where can i drift? how many places can i do it at in brisbane? what rim size is best for drifting? i use 15's to do it at the moment is that alright or do you get to much roll from the tyre? i've found they like to fold a lil when comming into corners but nothing to bad, i can use 17's if need be but the cost of tyres gets more expensive thats all. also whats a good drifting tyre? eg. bridgestone, maxxis etc. for both 15' & 17' anyway i have started stripping the interior backseat, spare and bootcarpet all gone going to go down today and sus out some prices on a good bucket seat - any good brands ppl know of? actually 2 of them, i've decided im going to leave the passenger seat in so i can still scare the missus lol. she's never been on a race track befor cheers all.

To all you people saying you don't need power, power = spinning wheels = smoke + maintaining speed for linking corners = cool.
drifting is not just sliding through a corner. It's sideways from beginning to end billowing smoke out the back. |

a proper drift not a show style drift is to get through the corner as quick as possible and with the LEAST amount of smoke
like drifting started from japan when they do various car racing in the snow and yeah.

Togue stuff is different, it's more the odd powerslide/power overstter sorta thing, not full sideways through corners and such. |

Hm. Fast and sideways in an EB is a questionable decision lol.

it can be done i wanna get the ford name out there and there's not to many ford drift cars. plus anythings possible maybe a lil harder but that just makes it all the more interesting and requires more skill.

a good size wheel for drifting is 17" or 18" my jap drifter mates have all recomended you use nankang tyres!!! they are very cheap yet extremely good!!! also produce heaps of smoke! when drifting dont expect a set of tyres to last you more than about 5 or 6 laps!

There is a vn v8 in competition level drifting doing very well. If a vn v8 can so can a f**k e-series with a bit of power.
BRIDE racing seats are the best 17inch tyres are probably the best but are expensive.. use 16inches. Heeno i love what your doign keep it up mate prove the doubters wrong |
