hi i recently sold my ea and got a nissan terrano for the weekends and winters but now with a kid on the way we are looking at getting another car cant find any EL's but plenty of EF's i was just wondering whats the difference between the EF and the EF2? is the performance the same etc?
we are looking and getting a fairmont always loved the look of the ef/el fairmonts. also i heard theres a problem with the ef's with the headlights turning yellow can this be cleaned up or what.

hey mate, this is being covered here

http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28317

the yellow headlights can be cleaned up. there is a doco on it here showing how to sand them back. if they arent too bad u can try plexus, just spray it on and rub/buff it off. autobahn sell it.
the el headlights go yellow aswell, but dont seem to be as bad as the ef's

ahh, ill have a look at the can when i get home, but pretty sure its from the good ole US of A.

i think they took it off the market here for a while because there wasnt alot of demand. so you might have trouble sourcing it over there. either way tho, you can sand them back. just might have saved you a little time and effort using plexus if the headlights arent too bad

ask around at supercheap etc, might be something else they can reccommend.

I wouldn't be asking for any recommendations from super cheap. Considering 95% of people that work there are check out chicks and/or stock people, you'll probably end up with acidic wheel cleaner or something.

lol re the acid. hey if you get an ef/el get some headlight protectors. they seem to stop the yellowing effect. the parts on my ef that arent covered have yellowed a little i used cut and polish on em and looked schmicko again. cheers and good luck -sambo
