Sounds like yeah o2, Possible you need a new IAC sounds like fuel is going to waste idling so high. Theres probably 2L per hundred just in the high idle.

Im getting average 7.9ltrs per 100 on the hi-way and 14.1ltrs per 100 around town can get up to 750 out of 64Ltrs if need be (granny driving ) but average 550-650k's per tank for both town and hiway

Is the IAC the same as the ISC?
The sensor onto the manifold butterfly? I've cleaned it out. Dosnt seem to help. Didn't really think the 1200idle would make such a difference. |

my ED gli, with the weight of a fairmont interior and a gas system.
iv had the petrol freeway economy down to 7.6L per 100km's no idea with the around town petrol figure. and on gas iv never seen a tank less than 420km's around town and on the freeway on gas the best i have done was 537km's till the gas ran out. im really happy with both figures, tops of 37 bux for a full tank of gas |

Ef is averaging about 16.9L per 100kms suburban driving, Don't do much highway drivin. Only getting 350kms to 400kms tops per tank...DOH! Hmm... o2 sensor?? anything else that could improve fuel economy? Would shagged suspension and a holey exhaust effect fuel economy that much??

Just had some work done to my car recently (supercharged I6), and first tank yielded 10.7L/100 city driving, with lots of boost! I'm amazed. Second tank is looking similar.
A tip - I used to average 12.5L/100 around town. After reading an autospeed article, I changed driving style to use wider throttle openings @ lower rpm....eg. accelerate fairly hard in each gear from low rpm (1000rpm), but change up a gear before 2000rpm. This type of driving in a falcon will still keep you up with traffic easily. My economy immediately dropped to average of 11.6L/100 city driving, with bests of approx. 10.9L/100. Even towing 1.5 tonne, city driving, would give economy better than 12.5L/100 using this driving style New setup is yielding significantly better economy again - I think due to combination of fixing a blocked cat converter, and fitting an intercooler. Joe

Sounds like a good idea. Might give that style a try.

I didn't buy the product, just adopted the driving style they described. It works exactly as per the article. Would be a pain to try and drive using that device, but once you'd sussed it out you'd get even better economy.

Id like to know where to buy one of them? Or is it a KIT you have to make?
