hehe, I found out this the hard way last time I went to the drags - after been given a tyre pressure gauge which my mate failed to tell me needed resetting I accidently let my tyres down to 12 PSI I ended up wheelspinning through 2nd and fishtailing half the way up the track. As the others have said, don't just drop the clutch! If you can drop it without wheelspin then slip it at higher revs for an even better take off. 15s are a good size for drags. The lower the profile the harder it is to get traction. If you look at any of the drag slicks they're usually little wheels with huge profile tyres (and of course fat width as well)

yea, and they have VERY flexible sidewalls..... big, flexy sidewalls act as a bit of a shock absorber

Yeah its a bit of an issue, to be honest i haven't really solved it all that well.
I guess i should run slicks but i didn;t want to spend the money given how often they would be used and i'm not much into drag racing, more circut racing. But then ewith the new gear box and clutch able to handle it maybe i'll give it a go...

(sorry to hijack) how do people like pyro with 400rwkw, drag without wheel spin, when i floor it i get spin in my stock pos skill. if yo uget wheel spin you giving it to much in first. ease off a bit till you have you speed up then get into it |

i launch at 4000rpm by dumpiong the clutch and mine only spins a little bit. But its a power spin. if that makes sence. haha
2.108 60' foot for a fairly stock ED falcon (XR6 Spec) is pretty decent. If only she revved out i would get a 14.6 easy. i find that i went slower if i did a bigger burnout so when i do a burnout its maybe 4-5 seconds on the brake. I also had my 16 inch tyres at 20psi |
