My BF XR6 sits about the same as yours, little to the left of the middle.
Sometimes cooler.

My EF sits just on the M on NORMAL and between the O and R on a hot day with the AC going.
The Laser never goes above 1/2 way on the gauge, I don't remember her ever getting hot in the 7yrs I've had her.

Mine usually sits around the L in cool weather and R-M in the heat with AC on.

This is reassuring to know, as mine also sits around the same position. Though, at the risk of thread hiacking, at what temp should the thermo's kick in? I've noticed, with the AC on they run constantly. Is this right?
