In my EF its under the car on the side of the passenger side chassis rail

Make sure you relieve the fuel pressure before removing it, phongus learnt the hard way.

Yeah...what everyone else said, fuel filter located underneath car on the passenger side...sort of underneath the seat, but not literally. and yes, relieve fuel pressure before attempting to remove the fuel filter. Even after relieving pressure there may be some petrol still left in the line, but it won't squirt out in many random directions. Have fun =D phong =P~

by re leaving pressure are you just referring to opening the fuel cap?

No, open the boot and lift the carpet up, on the left side there will be a round metal plate held down by screws.
Undo them, remove the plate and unclip the wiring connector inside it, this will disable the fuel pump, then run the car till it stalls, then crank it over a couple times so theres no pressure left in the lines. Dont forget to plug the connector in after your finished |

ptttf..... i dont bother relieving the pressure.... just use a rag when you pull the hose off.....

bloody oath, just crack the lines, havea rag handy, and put the new one in, you wlll spill stuff all if you do it right.

only about 200mls comes out! (seems more)
its easier to undo the relay in the engine bay. even easier to use a kill switch (if you have one installed)

Did i mention i drink the petrol straight outta the pipe, then i light up a cigar and smoke while im changing the filter over, then crush the old one on my forehead like a softdrink can?

find the fuel pump relay. Remove it. Start the engine and let it die. most of the fuel pressure will then be removed. And dont have a ciggi when you have finished, last year a guy set himself on fire doing that.

Go and buy yourself a Gregory's Automotive guide for the EL Series. It is the next best thing to a full service manual. Has everything you need to know in there and costs FA...
