Hi All
I am fairly new to the Sydney Scene and looking at others opinions of where the best and most affordable places are for a new 2.5" Mandrel Bent Exhaust + 2.5" Cat + Extractors fitted. Thanks for your advice in advance. Thanks DjShao |

I am in Blacktown.
I was quoted $1300 or I can buy buy parts for $700 and get fitted for $300. I read some posts in the forum that say it should only cost around $700-800. So am curious as to where these places are as it appears a big discount. Thanks Duarne |

They are pretty close to blacktown. worth a call. yellowpages.com.au for the number though

well i payed all up around $1000 got cresent motorsport to do the paci-comps (4480) and 2 1/4 high flow cat (You don't want to go any bigger than 2 1/4 with the cat or you will lose back pressure and lose power down low) for about $600 and had a mate that worked at carline mufflers in smithfield do my cat back for $400.
I didn't want to go for another cheap system as i have already gone through two before.

Going a smaller diameter cat defeats the purpose of fitting the 2 1/2" exhaust. Might as well keep the original 2 1/4" exhaust. The exhaust only flows as good as the most restricive section in it... |

your not taking into account gas velocity. A 2.5 zorst with a 2.25 in cat will flow better than a 2.25 zorst with 2.25 cat, because it squeezes the gas at the cat which then expands as it enters the 2.5 in zorst increasing velocity. Flow isnt all about diameter. Unfortunately that little devil velocity comes in a complicates everything....
its a good compromise between better flow and keeping compression. as for "The exhaust only flows as good as the most restricive section in it...", theres no point doing your exhaust at all if it has a muffler on it under that theory.

More grunt knows what i'm talking about! the zorst doesn't work the as the intake, bigger pipe doesn't mean better flow. I did my study's on this before i did it and had a long chat with joe from cresent motorsports about this and worked out the 2 1/4 cat will help keep the velocity through the zorst and there for help keep the bottom end power!!
