since i have had the timing adjusted i hit the rev limiter once taking off and my car has just been getting slower since then.
i put my foot down and it makes this very loud induction noise (like its got a pod) but the car doesnt move very fast.
Is there any chance that when i hit the limiter it may have changed the cam timing (vernier gear).
When the ignition timing was adjusted it was running great for a few days. It has just been going downhill from the time i hit the limiter.
Oh Btw its a EB2 4 speed with a CMS stage 2 head and cam

Any ideas?
Cheers Peoples

Where did you have the timing adjusted? Take it back if its not right, especially if it continues to get worse. But i wouldnt tell them that i had it bouncing of the rev limiter. [although it shouldnt make a difference].

i don't really know much about each motor but if it got push rods it might of bent them and everytime u get high rpm it apply preasure and slowerly bending them and she starting to die away

I don't know of EBII got push rods but that posable if it dose

Is the timing still accurate i.e. where you set it - maybe something has moved...

Sounds like they didn't tighten the lock nut and the timing has moved. Sounds like the timing has retarded heaps as this is what will happen if the dizzy body starts to move. Lots of noise and no go is because the spark is firing after the piston has started to move on the power stroke (retarted ignition).

Bet thats your problem.

cheers
Scott

Prolly timing

if things started happening with cam timing you'd prolly have pistons hitting valves

only other thing is something else ignition related...like coil is on its way out or something...but highly unlikely.
