after serching for what seemed like ages i have just brought myself a set of 150w driving/fog lights, i will be adding these along side my plain jane 100w pencil beams (yes i am slighty night blind :P ), what alternator can be used to be able to power them both sets, or is my standard EA alternator stonger than it looks?

Im unsure about the EA power rating of the EA ones but i know that the EF ones crank 110Amp and IIRC people with mad sound set-up's have the stock one.

Might just be worth upgrading to the serpetine belt systen instead of the 3 belt fans system. Also get yourself a set of thermofans. I have 2 motors and 1 set of blades that i can sell. You just need to make up your own bracket.

not really a fan of serpantine belt system anymore, one belt to run everything, if that goes your stuffed.

as for the thermo's, hmm, its a nice idear but no thanx.

now back on topic.

depends on what alternator you have.

I am pretty sure the EA got the BOSCH one, (my 3.9 has it) and its rated at about 75 amps. As long as it charges well at idle it will be fine

keep in mind you will be using these lights in remote areas where there isn't much stop start driving, so the alternator will be kept spinning at a steady speed when you need to use your lights
