hey guys,
going to put an exhaust on my XR6 (ED) it's already got extractors, and im making up a CAI for it. not sure whether it has the standard XR6 cam or one bump above it, it seems to pull well to 5200rpm. now as far as off the shelf exhausts go i have a choice to make. so who is the best? i have heard good things about HM Headers cat back systems. can also go for, redback, lukey, etc which one is the best behind an auto? probably going to end up sticking a wade 1673 cam in or similar. i was thinking of making up my own 2.75" exhaust but is it worth it?

2.5" is plenty for NA. Lukey works for me, have had no dramas. Sound is good to my liking, I don't want my car to sound loud so I have the 2 mufflers. Thumbs up to Lukey. Though also have heard redback are good too, but don't sound as good as Lukey...that's just what I heard.

+1 for Lukey
+1 for 2 muffs It sounds sweetest at 2500rpm, and is loud enough for me as I'm not 17 anymore Everyone loves the sound of my EA. My system was 2nd hand, it was living in a backyard.. got it fitted and it sounds great. |

ive had both Lukey and Redback exhausts on my EL, and found the Lukey to be louder and smoother in its note, and the Redback a little bit quieter, but with a nice throbby note to it.
i have no rear resinator though, so the drone on the highway at 110km/h with a 3.45 diff is an absolute b**ch, lol.

Yeh if you want it to be quieter add in the second muffler 4 sure, had 1 muff b4 and got sent to the EPA for noise test, u could hear me from about 11 streets away... Swapped it to a setup with 2 muffs n its plenty quiet(sleeper), n havnt been hassled at all.
In terms of sound i had Redback and it was a nice grunty sound, got lukey now and it only squeals when u boot it. having sed that, the sound will vary depending on ur setup either way u go with it.
