So you know this for a fact?

What if I told you that all Safeway fuels are Caltex Fuels?

Well the fact that each time i run my car on it, a full tank gets me 250kms and thats it. From what iv heard, its actually just the left overs from Caltex

Caltex for me.

Vortex Gold (95RON) when prices are high, but most of the time Vortex98, it's great stuff. Used to run Optimax, but I found here in Canberra, the quality of both Shell and BP fuels varies too much (ie.. some tanks are great, others s**t). And there's like 1 Mobil around.

It must be the way you drive, my local servo is a Safeway servo I get good mileage out of it.

The leftovers, that is real funny, Half of the Safeway servos are Caltex servos, do you really think that they would be putting s**t in their own tanks? I think not. Do you also think that Caltex send out a tanker with fuel that can only be delivered to Safeway servos.
You are half right though Safeway use to use s**t imported fuel. Until they made a deal with Caltex since then they have a buying ageement to only buy from Caltex.

But hey buy your fuel from whoever you like, I'll take my 4c discount, every chance I can.

Optimax, because thats all thats around me.

If I go to the city I'll buy anything like the ultimate 98 or mobile 8000 stuff. It's fun experimenting with fuels.

BP Ultimate all the way

I get better Kms and no chance of pinging.

In my 6 though, its hardly noticable differece between reg and premium. Mainly coz its tuned for reg. Advance timing with premium and i would get better power and econ.

V8 Its way better imo

This might be the most stupidest comment. but what happens if u mix all different type of fuel into one tank? :? only high graded petrol only but. that would give an odd difference. :)

by the way becos im not paying for the petrol my parents like to save on money and so use Unleaded. My EA ran beautifully when i ran it on optimax but now since reading this i might try others.

Dont try it. This is what happened to the last person who attempted such a foolish stunt as mixing different brands of petrol:

Enough already with the nonsense BOZZ.
I find with Optimax I get more power and Mileage but the downside I get a Rough Idle. With Ultimate I get a better idle but less Power and fuel mileage as compared to Optimax. So go figure :!: :!:

Well this may have been previously stated but regarding the Safeway fuel is leftover fuel from caltex and is the same as caltex and blah blah blah , Safeway fuel is Caltex fuel! as Woolworths is in a joint venture with Caltex so safeway can promote its specials, same as shell's + coles myer's joint venture.. , if you dont believe me and want hard proof have a look at their Corporate websites in their statements, they nearly always make a mention of their co-operation together and the success they are havink
So whenever caltex wants to open a new store they have licensing rights and so on for the safeway plus petrol name and crap, woolworths is essentialy openink up that store as well where , where they are able to use their 4 cents a litre crap promotions, it gets more business for woolworths as people go to their supermarkets to get the discount, and for caltex as thats where theyll go to fill up....

For those with extractors and sports exhaust, have you noticed that Ultimate makes it a little bit louder, I think mine gets louder?
