Hey guys, currently im using Shell Optimax, i reckon its the bomb digitiy, im getting about 100kms more than regular, so its lasting heaps longer, but im wondering, what you guys think about each different petrol, i know safeway plus is the s**t of s**t, what about premium? and where would i get my hands on high octane? or is that the same as optimax? i love heaps of power, and with that i know that ill get more Kms :) so what do you guys think? and yes i will be watching A Current Affair tonight to see what they think, but who knows best for a ford than you guys!
cheers
Jason

I find that using Ultimate Optimax and other 'Performance Fuels' don't do s**t, I don't get more kms out of a tank, if anything less. Doesn't increase performance. I'm happy with the regular unleaded, I just go to Mobil or BP.

I might watch TV tonight too, I'll see what they have to say.

yeah nar, i find that i get a good 100 kms out of it, usually when pushing my car all the time ill get 300kms, and with optimax i get 400 :) makes a difference, normal driving ill get 450 on optimax and 350 on regular

I'd guess it doesnt do much for a stock vehicle. You certainly can tell the difference between regular unleaded and 98RON. The unavoidable pinging (at any load just above idle!) is the first thing I notice :) But thats life when youre up near 12:1 compression.

avgas isnt good for regular use on a fairly stock motor.

BP98 is the only fuel you should use.

Me too.. great octane rating also. The V8 will be running LPG VERY soon, also on stupidly high compression :)

A fair bit of compression for a street car. I would think even with 98 ron it might ping as well.

Ive used BP Ultimate 98 for ages now and yeah it gets my tick of approval! :) My XR responds alot better on a 98 octane rather than a 91!

It may be expensive but if you can afford it then use it! :)

Anyone who can afford to run a fuel guzzling falcon can afford an extra $2-3 per tank for the good fuel. For most people they get their monies worth with extra mileage per tank!

Also having duel fuel has its advantages as well :)
