I would like to know please, the best spark plugs (Brand and heat range) to use in an EL XR6. It is stock apart from extractors, 2.5 system and K&N air filter.

There is a great article that was in Street Machine which had the following to say:
After trying all sorts of spark plugs (all of which caused detonation), (AN AFTERMARKET COMPANY) finally settled on a particular Autolite plug. Originally these plugs were shipped to them by mistake and, as it happened, they worked! Screwing them in saw an instant 4kW gain. According to (A PERSON THAT WORKS FOR THIS COMPANY), "using the right plugs is like adding a couple of extra degrees of timing without actually doing it." Low-impedance leads are also important, with (AN AFTERMARKET COMPANY) exclusively using a Champion version. |

They obviously gave you a better result? i found no power difference at all. just that the autolite plugs caused detonation and the stock XR6 plugs didn't. may be a different story in someone els' engine |
