Thanks.

Proberly stating the obvious, but if that were me, Id be out of there and at the desk of a GOOD mechanic ASAP.
Are there any rub marks in the wheel arches on tyres or susp. components?

Ball joints are a possibility, if they are original they are probably stuffed.

it's a 12/97 EL with 92,000k's. It has new Gabriel shocks...note... BAD choice. The ball joints are originals but seem fine, I will check the rack today.

what's wrong with them? 1) the ride is very poor compared to other brands like Monroe. 2) I found out after I bought them they have the highest warranty claim rate of all shock absorbers (mainly blown seals) 3) they loose there damping qualities very quickly. 4) Its worth the extra to get a higher quality shock. Gabriel are made in S. America, sold by junk shops like Supercheap Auto. Pedders are Monroe in disguise.

sorry to burst your bubble but according to a pedders rep who came to my workplace a while ago, pedders is cheap nasty korean or chinese crap, the cheapest they can import, repaint, and box back at there wharehouse. pedders do use gabriel shocks repackaged with pedders packaging. the only quality product in a pedders box is there springs which come from king springs but at the same time are not made from the same quality steel as kings. so pedders can keep the costs down and stay in competition with kings. thats why with pedders springs your car is noticably lower within 12 months of fitment, but i can't say i've seen king springs sag like that.

information from pedders rep who warned me not to pedders springs in a vh sle i owned a few years ago.

I know Pedders springs are made by King springs, but rhere was a big s*itfight about a year or so ago about them sourcing their shocks from Monroe and reselling them as a different brand. Who really knows for sure.

whats that in your mirror?

Very interesting.. No 1 you say ride is poor compared to other brands, what else have you tried and why did you buy them for..No 2 Who quoted that statement to you.and what seal blows .No3 i fitted a set to a track car and he doesnt have any damping problems..Our workshop fits a lot of Gabriel shoacks to cars and have never had a problem, personally i prefer Konis
