Got a question everyone.
Driving my 92eb 5speed home tonight I noticed when id accelerate slowly (so the engines not roaring) through 1st or 2nd and depress the clutch the is a noise I can only describe as whirring.
But only slowly, not very loud and dosnt last long.

Wirr wirrrrr wirrrrrrr

Like its slowing down.
Im thinking clutch is fuxed.
Hasn't ever felt too good. But now its getting light.
But anyone have any ideas.

T5s whine a bit, some much worse than others. Either that or your spigot/thrust race bearing isnt too healthy.

Yea I think the box is fine. Have had to adjust the clutch a fair bit.
I have a clutch here. And new spigot. Just gotta work out how to put it in.

easy way to put it in i find it to find a socket the same size of the bearing and just tap it in, for the whinning noise try checking your oil level

the only hard part is (if you dont have a hoist) is putting the gearbox back in and finding out the clutch isnt aligned properly. Mine also whines a touch... and rattles a little in idle. but it may just need a bit more fluid.

Would I find a filler plug up one of the sides of the box on on top. Dunno with these.
Ill just get one of the mechanics at work to help me put the clutch in.

Yep, if it only happens when you depress the clutch it's more than likely going to be the thrust/throwout bearing, Its probably dry(No grease). You want to get it replaced before it seizes up completely & wears out the pressure plate too.
