Hi guys
i have an xh xr6 and have just recently noticed a whistling noise when i back off
it's mainly when i am giving it a bit in second then go to shift. when i take my foot off the accelerator it makes a whistling noise
also the other day i installed a ba airbox with my dad and we started it up and gave it a few sharp revs using the dealy (gone blank) on the side of the throttle body and it did it then.
i do have a pod filter but you would think it would whistle on accelerating anyway it doesn't sound like it's from the airbox.
any suggestions would be helpfull
cheers
ben

Check the gasket under the Idle Speed Motor. (top of the throttle body)

mine whistles all the time, but that's cause half the bottom air intake pipe is missing :P

My XT does too, its the cold air intake that does it. Sounds kind of cool actually but I doubt it does anything much.
