My cars over heating, and i cant figure out why! It never used to, but now whenever i give it some stick or anything like that, then it starts over heating, till it boils if i dont realise quick enough. So far ive replaced water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses, and flushed the radiator inside and out. Also replaced the centre hub of the fan. Theres not really anything left unless its running super lean or something?

sometimes rust can build up in the galleries of the radiator.
are you going by the guage what the temp is or when you open the bonnet ? the only other thing is the temp range of the thermostat. apart from that you have got everything except the belt.

Did you flush the radiator yourself? if the cores are clogged, it wont work, has to be rodded, to clean it out properly.

I realise that, but i did the best i could. I believe the radiator was replaced just before i got the car two years ago. After doing my first head i havent been running coolant as its constantly been coming out of somewhere, either leaking heater taps and stuff like that. I flushed the engine too, and am now running fortron coolant. I tried to get a new radiator cap from ford, but so far havent been able to get one as they didnt have the correct one in stock. But the current cap is only about ten months old? I was going through a time where i couldnt get my alternator belt tight enough and they kept getting throw off, but thats fixed now as well. The belt is probably about 4 months old. ANd i assume the thermostat is the correct one as the temp gauge still sits dead in the middle of the o of normal as long as i dont drive it too hard.

But it never used to overheat before? I never though about that, they will block off a fair bit of airflow. And im upgrading to bigger ones tonight... Hmmm....
Heres whats going to replace those little ones out front!

f**k man!
no wonder they be hell blocking the rad! get a small nudge bar and mount them forward a bit so the air can get in behind... or make a small metal deflector plate under the car to ange air to the rad

Were you using tap water to fill radiator? depending on your water, especially like here, where it is full of calcium, it can block cores, i would get the radiator professionally done, before looking at anything else.

yeah go the nudge bar - they rock!!
Have you thought about upgrading to thermo fan's from a later e-series and pissing off your clutch driven prop??

Happy (and any other members) just out of curiosity how much are the twin thermos, and who could install them etc or how easy are they to install?
Sorry for hijacking the thread, but may be benificial to you too.

Well i fitted up my spotties today. heres a pic!
Trouble is, if i put thermo fans in, and they come on at night, ill be drawing 780 watt with just the spotties and thermos going. let alone air con or anything like that. So thats not really an option unless i get a bigger alternator. But the clutch fan is brand new so it wont be that anyway!

If it overheating while your driving it say??? over 40 k then thermo fans won't fix it..I would say while you had rad out to fix head ..The crap in radiator dried and blocked some tubes as they would have flacked ...For around $200 get a recored radiator...Some new hoses if they look crappy...Then check timing...Also check that fan is working? After some service the centre coupling dies and doesn't lock up...
