My car recently has been making a wineing noise when i drive doesn't sound good also when i apply the brakes it stops what could it be

What about if you do left hand turns? If it goes away it could be a wheel bearing.

If it was the bearings is shuoldn't stop when you brake...
Have you taken any of your wheels off lately? Sounds stupid but could easily be a few wheelnuts not secured properly. Then prolly check bearings, and faling that check you calipers aren't seized... or even maybe your diff might be rooted... |

Applying brakes will make a difference as it does when turning left or right. At a cost of around $60-70 for a set it isnt that expensive

Remove,clean and inspect wheel bearings.If worn replace/repack bearings and replace hub seals and make sure you put a smear of rubber grease on the new seals and adjust properly.
Where is the noise comming from the rear or front of the car?Just another thought could possibly be rear wheel bearings.Have encountered this on a AU ute.Ended up being a bent axle and chewed out wheel bearing.

yeah its coming from the front of the car. My mate is a apprentice mechanic and he says it could be the brake pads. yeah might take it to the mechanic but thanks for your advice

Wheel bearing being too loose can do this also??? By applying brakes it holds hub straight....Either way its brakes or wheel bearing.....

also check that your caliper slides haven't seized as if it only does it turning right this could be your problem. The reason for this is beacause they have floating calipers and when u turn left it won't make the nosie as the caliper doesn't push the pad onto the disc.
