Hi i know this sounds like a silly question but im doing some work to my EL Fairmont while the head is off to do the gasket. Im replacing the coil and leads dizzy was done not long ago and was wanting to upgrade to a better performing coil which i cant find anything for the 6cyl EL but for the EL v8 theirs some nice options from msd the msd 8227 looks good now i know the plug to the wirring loom is differant and would need to be changed but is their any other reason it wouldnt work?

it will work, but there is nothing wrong with the std 6cyl coil,
while your there check the centre post in the distributor cap as they wear down |

Your time would be better spent relocating the std coil, and if you're keen, the TFI.
