Check with your State RTA.

I think you will find that you won't be able to do it due to emmissions regulations.

What is wrong with your injectors?

Let us know what you are wanting/trying to do and will see what advice can be given.

OK.

To help the best that I can, what is done to the ute?

What gearbox is in it, 5 speed T5 manual or 4 speed auto BTR?

Is there any work done to the engine?

How many Km on the engine?

What diff ratio is fitted?

Anything else that you can think of?

Post the stuff up, it works better for the forum and others can use the information if it suits their needs.

It has 155630km on the clock, 3.45:1 diff ratio with a high performance plate, no work done to engine, extractors n a 2&1/2 inch exhaust, 4 speed auto , I have a 5speed manual box

OK.

Low km for a vehicle that age, which is good.

3.45:1 diff, Extractors and ehaust are good start.

One of your biggest issues is the 4 speed BTR. While they are a great gearbox, ( I still have a modified BTR fitted to my car), they have the tallest 1 gear in the world :D . You will get nailed almost every time off the line with a BTR but once you hit 2nd she takes off. I would recommend fitting the T5 as soon as possible, you will find a good improvement with you takeoffs, won't improve top end.

You could look at 3.7:1 or 3.9:1 diff ratio for improved take off but with the increased takeoff comes a drop in top end and fuel economy. Where do you do most of your driving, Highway or City?

As for injectors, aquire a good set of AU 20lb injectors (stock are 19lb). These are really no bigger than the stock injectors but you will find that the AU Injectors have a better spray pattern. Stock have a single spray while the AU are a 4 spray pattern. You will find a slight improvment in fuel economy and a slight increase in acceleration.

When was the last time the O2 sensor, plugs, leads, Dizzy Cap, Rotor button, leads etc wre checked/changed.

Fit Thermo fans and remove the engine clutch fan, this will give an increase in power as well as improving cooling.

Is the engine still fitted with the Tickford head?

Headwork and Cam will give you an increase in power. These were probably 110/120RwKw from the factory, with the right combination you can look at 150/160 + RwKw.

Look at porting an AB94 head, increasing the valve sizes and using an appropriate cam for your needs. (CMS stage 3 head with a stage 2 cam or even a stage 3 cam.)

Change the air intake, XG/EB are a very restrictive intake. Fit an EA throttle body air intake pipe, these are much larger than the EB/XG pipes.

Look at fitting an EF/EL BBM. this will increasde low end torque and also you can use the EF/EL/AU intake or even BA, much better airflow.

See how that goes for a start.
