Cant say I noticed any improvements, mainly did it to make sure future mods had sufficient air flow. The adaptor is made out of a piece of 3mm plate and some 75mm exhaust pipe. The pipe had a V cut out of it, (not all the way through, left enough to keep as one piece) then the V closed up and welded. The plate was cut to a cardboard template I took off the air box lid. A bit of stuffing around but it kept me out of trouble for a few hours. Hope the working drawings help.

use a 3 inch pipe running into the airbox and use a shortened 45 degree silicon joiner onto that with a short 3 inch steel cutoff on the other end to give the pod filter something to clamp onto. Perfect fit.
