how are you going to have the thermo's switched? you need something that will switch them on at the right time

i still dont get why you would need to wire them up to a/c...

A/C requires a fan to run properly (IE: sitting at lights air con will go hot unless you have a fan pulling air through) as aircon requires air to cool it by passing through the condesor (looks like a radiator)so if there is no air going through there is no cold aircon

yeah... but if your sitting at the lights the fans would come on anyway...

only if you have a thermo switch installed.

i wired it all up as the pic describes, but added one per thermo plus another one for the aircon on the left fan, then hooked up the wired to the battery (not the a/c one) then it just started smoking... i dont know why unless the relay is stuffed

Put some resistance on the switching circuit
Try putting a 1k resistor on each relay on the "thin wire" |

where do i get these resistors from?

Jaycar Anything above 300 and under 1,000 ohms will do I would have thought the relays would provide enough resistance to keep the wire from smouldering but obviously I was wrong... When you say "thin wire" how thin are we talking? Very important in the finished product to have it all fused otherwise you are likely to start a fire. I can't belive I just wasted my double century on that post...! |
