hi all,
ive dropped an AU XR6 VCT motor in my EF XR6 and i have an MSD rpm switch to control the VCT but im not sure where to get a tacho output signal from, its the only thing stopping me from driving the car where can i wire the rpm switch into to get a tacho signal?? car is an EF XR6 thanks.

hey u can get the tacho from the port in the fuse box or from the coil u can ill find out wat wire it is for u and let u know if u want ......im running a vct head in my ef and i just left the vct unpulged but ill let u know wat wire it is for u

behind the cluster its a pink wire with blue trace, im in the mist of the same convesion
took me ages to find out what one it is.

so after a bit of searching it looks like the PINK/DARK BLUE wire at the diag plug seems to be the best bet so far.

its also behind the cluster...tons of room to splice in a wire there, its what i have done on my au

NP, well I suppose it makes sense to keep your wiring over the passenger side of the engine bay.

Do you guys know how many pulses the computer sends to the cluster per revolution?
