well thanks for all your help fellow,

i fix it by replacing the whole smart lock modue that is located on the steering column. The problem was when someone tried to steal it they ripped out the small four wires that lead into the side of the barrel. After replacing the module i waited for 30 minute and the car started fine and has every time since.

good stuff.

Yes Froudey it was great to get the car running again properly. I even fixed the central locking that was locking and unlocking using the key which was a totally different issuse. The key lock on the tail gate wouldnt turn in the direction of unlock, so after pulling it about and seeing how still the whole thing was i srap some wd40 on it it was working again, but still a bit tight. So i repeated the process and found that a sh#@ load of dirt was the problem.

just thought you might like to know that as every one seem to go and replace the actulator which i had done on another car with a similar problem.

Cheers
