Oh, and CJH mentioned wood chassis, Morgan only stopped using mahogany in , I think, the 90's...I mean thats a sports car using a V8 with wood chassis and they even get raced like that so it must work...

I remember hearing about a type of wood that grows up near Townsville.....when dry, won't burn, but if wet, it will......weird.

Plastic doesn't absorb water/oil etc... unlike wood. Dont waste time just insulate the plastic airbox if you must, or spend your time and effort to make power elsewhere. CAI is the best way to fix the problems for heat in the intake.
