yeah 6 will go better cheaper,
Go v8 if you really want to but you need to spend big bucks to get them going - well the windosrs anyway!

you will need to get Engine (complete, all accessories) Gear Box, radiator, loom, Tailshaft, Ecu & K Framer - Think thats about it - Maybe condensor also!

I wouldn't bother unless an AU V8 landed on my lap. Slap a dizzy in it to run it with an EF/EL ECU, and a cam whiles it out.
Get a Pro-M MAF or tune to run AU MAF and injectors as well. Easiest is probably Pro-M calibrated to 24# injectors.
Add good extractors and exhaust and you'll be making 180rwkw.

Tailshaft is close enough to same too nicko, so thats one thing to take off the list.
One bogan with an EL XR8 I know is hooning around with an auto ED Fairmont shaft in his manual car.
The dumb C*** lowered it too much and banged the f**k out of his alloy one ;) Hi dave!

I've done the V8 conversion on my EB Fairmont when the opportunity arose. Did the full conversion for less than $1500 including the transmission.

Next car I purchased after that was a factory V8... nothing less from now on!! :)
