Hi guys i have a XB that is bog stock and has a real 97,*** K's on the clock.. all the numbers are the same and has been it the shed for the last 13 years. I'm the 3rd owner and i'm stuck on wat to do... I have a really nice 351C that has a bit of work done to it and a nice C4 auto sitting in the shed... should i put the 351 into it or should i fix up the stock motor and go down that path????

Imoa a bog stock brown and white XB six pack is never gonna be worth much you'd be better off doing a sleeper with the 351 in it or just do a GT copy or whatever you like as you'd still get better money for a 351 powered XB in top condition than a six any day.

What do you want to drive or own?
I'd go the 351C any day. 250s arent exactly inspiring to drive, and neither is a stock XB sedan...

Id agree, put the 351 in it, if it was a rarer model then id say keep it original, but like its been said, it will be worth more as a clean v8

Who cares what its worth, its not a rare model to start with, like I said build something you'll enjoy driving and looking at.

Thats an early one....has MPH on the outside.....and doesn't have 250 badges on the guards....must be a 200???
The only ones of those worth real coin are the GS V8 versions, or V8 Fairmont with extras, and of course, the GT versions.
A bloke I know at work sold an XB GS V8 (351 auto), matching numbers, and factory sunroof, and was in worse nick than the one pictured....sold it for $14,000.

Agreed , its a decent car but not anything special.
My opinion.......Throw the 351 in and enjoy it. If u feel bad about pulling out the six, then dont discard it, just keep it in the shed ... u can always throw it back in 1 day........
Do what you want to do , and not worry about being criticized for your choice.
Its your car to enjoy !
