i am sure i read about this on another forum but i cant recall the general outcome. my heater is not one of the better ones around and i use the car everyday for school so at the moment its not an option to remove the dash and change the core. i have replaced and tested just about everything heater related and the best i get it mildly warm so until i have a free weekend i was wondering if i can connect the heater hoses up to the air con pipes that run into the firewall? the hoses are different diameter but i can make adaptors. i have seen this done for V8 conversions but have not found anyone with long term experiance with this setup. any concerns that people have encountered?

The cooling system may need a clean out. The heater tap may be half clogged with sh!t. Have seen this many times.

have you tried reverse flushing the heater core????
sometimes just clogged with s**t!!
worked real well on a '77 fairlane not so long back.
cost nothing but time and water[don't tell bracksy]..

The short answer NO. The AC pipes run refrigerant gas!

What temp thermostat are you running? If its too cold it will affect the heaters performance.

As suggested try flushing the heater core using a garden hose connected the heater hose going into the firewall. This will directly flush the core.

hi guys.check the heater core.if its clog like the other member mention it wont work.try that and see how you go mte

i wish it were just the heater core being blocked. i have flushed it a couple of times before
