My TE Cortina had a XD Falcon motor with the later Alloy Head 4.1 Motor with electronic distributer with two wires coming of it, A red and Green wire. Recently I fitted an XF engine with Carby. It has a Different distributer with a three wire plug in the side. I have been told I need a Big Control Box and another Box to convert to the XF Electronic system. All I have is the Distributer and coil on the XF motor. Question is, is it worth the effort to convert to the XF Electronic System? and if it is What do I need? where do I get it? and how do I get a simple wiring diagram? So that I can put it together?

Thanks

the dizzy with 3 pins on the side is no good.. its a EST dizzy.

the one with 2 wires is the way to go mate.

here is a few photos of mine.. (should be same wiring setup as the XD setup you had in there before)

Positive and Negative off dizzy to coil is the easy wires.
i run positive from the fuse box straight to the other side of positive on coil
the brown wire from the corty loom goes to negative on coil also. (same loom as the oil pressure sender... theyres 1 other wire in the loom that isnt connected to anything)
