Hi Guys.
Got an '89 XF Panel Van that I'm considering swapping out the engine and gearbox in it. Currently has an Alloy 2 carburetor engine and 3 speed auto.
I have an EB2 Fairmont, and can get real cheap an EF Fairmont, that a thought of using for parts. This would give advantage of less Km's, EFI, 4 speed auto, more power.

Your thought? I'm interested to know has anybody done it before, any issues likely to be encounted?
Would I possibly be better off using an even newer engine (AU, BA etc?).

Not really interested in building up an engine, mucking around with turbo's etc, just looking for easy swap to better/more modern engine and 'box.
