Hey all.

Recently I swapped an XG engine into my XF sedan and for some reason the engine is only firing on cylinders 2, 4 and 6. The engine was running fine and smooth in the XG that it came out of, and was running fine in the XF for a day or so. Then the next day I ran it for about 1/2 hour, parked it for 2 and when I went to start it again cylinders 1, 5 and 3 wouldn't fire. Each of these cylinders is getting a strong spark and whenever I pull the plugs they are wet with fuel, keep in mind that the engine still runs, just with fuel and smoke pouring out of the exhaust. I'll list what I've done to try and rectify the issue below but I'm not sure what could've caused this to happen in the space of the 2 hours that it was parked.

What's been done to try and fix it:
- New plugs ( twice )
- New leads
- New coil
- New fuel filter
- ECU swapped for one that I know works
- New fuel pump ( had one anyway )

Thanks in advance for any help, regards.

Have a really good look at the distributor cap, sometimes they can crack, or have some tracking/damage that's hard to see, I'd actually remove the distributor cap and have a really good look at it. Other than that, if it's a DEAD miss on 3 cylinders, you are obviously MISSING something, don't be a parts changer, do some TESTS; Do you have INJECTOR PULSE? if not, check the fuel injectors (but then again, being as the plugs are wet, you most likely do have an injector pulse, but check it anyway) Also it won't hurt to have a look under the rocker cover to make sure the valves are opening and closing properly, do a compression test.

There's a few things to start with for now, hope that helps.
