Also sorry to jack topic but seeing as it will help others figure out compression, has anyone got the deck height or compression height of an i6? I just got a new computer and all my info from my old one is gone

If i was building the engine I would use ACL race pistons with a 1mm over bore. that will pretty much get you 10:1 with out needing to touch the head.

If i wanted more i'd do through decking the block enough to get 35thou piston/head clearence with an AU gasket. then equalize by opening the chambers.

The benefit is it take less machining for the same gain by decking the block, and when CC'ing the chambers you can remove metal to unshroud the valves at the same time, equalizing chambers and improving flow at the same time.

I believe factory ba rods and pistons with a valve relief cut to suit the sohc will get you a tad over 10:1

Well i already have a head thats been slightly shaved, ported polished bigger valves, so im thinking ill just shave the head a bit more and run a vernier cam gear to get ride of the slack in the timing chain. just not exactly sure how much has been taken off and how much further i need to go to get around 10 - 10.5/1 comp. guess ill have to just take to the people that worked on my head already, thanks for the help.
