Hello Ford lovers!
I would like to know if anyone out there could help me with a querie?
Could someone please give me some info on putting an el variable intake on a xhll 5 speed ute? Wat do i need? I have a complete el manifold with wiring, injectors and fuel rail. I hope someone has some info because i can't seem to find anyone in my little town that knows anything.
Cheers

G'day blake,
I have a 96 xh and am also lookin into the conversion.
You will need an el ecu (not ef coz ef runs coil pack not dizzy), el/ef style air box and intake tubing, ef/el rocker cover, ef/el top thermostat housing, ef/el top radiator hose, ef/el accel cable. This info was from what Jim from JMM told me when enquiring about the conversion. You could also try asking the boys at alted performance they also do the conversion kits. That is who i will be going through when getting mine.
Cheers Jeff

Any EL ECU will do for the BBM, as all XH's run an EEC V ECU, but they don't have the BBM programmed in (except XR6's). An XH XR6 ECU is the same as an EL XR6 ECU. IIRC you'll need to run a wire from pin 15 through the firewall for the VSV.

Say what?

My 94 EF has 3 coil packs underneath my plenum, so ummm what do you mean?
And also what is so good about this XH intake?

davehimself, what im saying is that an el runs a distributor and an ef runs coil packs instead. Therefore ecu's between the two are not interchangeable.

Nope, don't believe the airbox - pull the LH kick panel and check, my XHI is EEC-V, and I've checked a few others, they are the same.
