I'll let everyone see em once I got em painted and on my EL Fairmont. My main reason for these is that I love the Fairmont grill so I didn't want to downgrade to the basic XR front and bonnet.

Lately ive been thinking about this on my ghia but instead of having the xr light surround, you just have the xr lights in the fairmont headlight frame. So the final product would look similar to the set-up BenJ's wagon.
Would be possible and has it been done?

(This was the closest forum i could find related to my query)

Benj's lights are BA in the EB/ED lens. A lot different to trying to mount XR inside the EF/EL Mont lights. The lights will then have to project through 2 lens and you will still have the polycarbonate outer lens.

Ahh to be young again and .............

Ah k, i thought there would be problems like that. the xr lights look too deep for the fairmont enclosure anyways. Just a dream...

My 2c....spend the money on a tickford kit. Nothing nicer than a clean looking fairmont lowered nicely with a ticky kit ;)

If you have an over the top kit you gotta have the balls to back it up. It kills me when you see bulges etc with no practical use :(

Giving credit where it is due though; I was always a fan of the car posted by SWC.

Could you take a photo from the engine bay to show the clearance behind the lights?

You only have 2 types of Tickford Kit to worry about.

Check AWC

Yeah I know they're drop-in's.

I'm just interested to see how much room there is behind them
