it's designed to run the Ticlkford engine with the 3.45 diff, so it's not designed for your stock engine. however it will run it. and yes they arn't speed limited, but your car is limited for a very good reason - couse Ford don't think there safe above 180!!!

good point, but no car is really safe above 180. do you know if it will make the stock engine run worse or will it go the same?

Lots of cars are safe and beeing safe are 2 different things Yes the Xr6 ecu will remove the 180kmhr speed limiter but i advise u not to do this as the cars tailshaft is not ballanced/strong enough for this also if u have an auto the box will shift firmer and more than likely shift at higher rpm as for the engine it wont make it worse but i doubt it will make it better

it will make it better if you have cam mods, why u wanna drive over 180 anyway, u got a death wish or what. or you just wanna be cool drive real fast

to be honoust it will make the car run worse if its all stock.
the xr6 ecu was desigined for the tickford motor, which had a bigger cam, different valve springs, slightly ported head, a little more compression, different exhaust headers, different exhaust and higher KPA fuel regulator. if your car doesnt have any of this, the XR ECU will just add more fuel than needed and the car will run rich. Once you upgrade the cam, the XR ECU may see a small benifit, but i doubt you will feel it, and probably wont justify the $200-$250 you spend on it. with the speed limter, it may remove it, but i have heard of auto XR's being limited. reason being is the tailshaft is'nt desigined to spin quicker than 180. manuals are a different matter, they have alloy (?) tailshafts which are balanced.

Just being picky, but tickfords have the same exhaust headers as every other I6.
