Are you talking the BA/BF XR6? If so then no. But if your talking the XR6 Turbo or Typhoon then yes.

new cars dont have that same appeal about them...! people seem to restore a majority of the old cars, even the undesirable ones, triumphs, jags, austins, obviously fords/holdens, chryslers... can u really see people in 10/20 years time, restoring daewoo's and mitsubishi lancers? i reckon XR6's will be around, maybe not classed as muscle cars though, same with 8's and turbos, but still not the same as an XY phase III ho.
i can see the turbo cars bein like the VL turbo, in 10/20 years, they will be cheap, and easy to get goin quick, boy racer cars.

Hell no. Can't say XR6's are that exciting at all. Look at it this way, going bback 30 years ago you have your Hemi 6's that were pretty much keeping up with the V8's. It was like that with the first run of XR6's, pretty sure they were quicker or as quick as the XR8's, but since then the 6's arn't much against the 8's.
The XR6T and F6 cars will become a cult car like the VLTurbo I'm sure, but won't ever be overly desired. |

thing is, a hemi six is still quick today, an E49 will still run into 13's in stock form the way it left the factory near enough, (a little tune and a good set of tyres never hurt!) over 30 years ago
todays six cylinders arnt that quick, no where near unless they are turbo'd or mega worked.

In that case unless its a BA/BF XR6 turbo or an FPV Typhoon then no. The BA revitalised Ford and paved the way for the mighty comeback and apart from the GT and GTP the XR6 Turbo and Typhoon will almost certainly be classics in the future in my opinion. |

Yeah no joke mate. A good friend of mine went out looking for an old Ford ute ended up buying a Crysler Dodge VJ Regal ute thingo with a 245 3 speed auto. We puulled the engine out, it's now a 265 with Crow Cam and a few other goods, Holley 4 Barrell (couldnt afford to go the tripple Webbers) and a Boorg Warner 4 Speed singel rail (out of a Falcon) and XC Falcon hhyrdolic clutch system fitted. And this thing is amazing. WRX's for breakfast, HSV's for lunch! I reallyy though about packking up the EF and getting oone for myself! |

it might be a dumb question but why cant we get these power levels out of these engines is it because of the design or pollution control because the chrysler and ford had big engines i cant see why the ford 6 cant get as much as the chrysler and dont bag me for this question im just asking.

I think the earlier model XR6's while not be classed as muscle cars will retain their charm because they r quicker than most V8's of the same era.My ED"s basically stock but can show up the XR8's and V8 commodore's except for post 94 SS's
