Will this make any difference to my car? Some people say yes, others no.
Everything else is standard I6....

you WILL lose power, you need less fuel for more power, not more.

hang on that isnt entirely right is it....yes u will loose power because the fuel pressure will be the same but will be delivered slower due to the volume of fuel being delivered being larger. so this would stuff up the A/F mix and yes u would decrease the aount of energy or power created by the combustion process.... Not much point in doing this tho unless youve done engine modifications that now require better fuel delivery...and then u might look at the XR6T fuel rail, better reg (ECU would be better) largefuel pump and bigger injectors.....so do u really need the extra fuel ?

Thanks guys. Food for thought. I dont think its a worthwhile mod in isolation....

Big Kev, i was under the impression the injecotrs and fuel pump from a XR6 are the same as stock, just the fuel presure reg is bigger and ecu is differerent

Would it be worth while me doing this, as my car runs lean with the big cam?

I put an 300kpa XR6 one in My EF, I have the XR comp, head and cam etc as opposed to the 270kpa one, it seemed to flatten out my idle a little bit and well... it was the last thing to complete my XR running gear.
I figured its there for a reason and also theres 'less' chance of starvation..If possible

I'm still running the standard manual ECU. I missed out on a manual EL XR6 ECU, and I'm not happy.

changing the pressure reg will increase the fuel pressure(duh), and hence even with a stock ecu & injectors will deliver more fuel. the injector fires for a certain amount of time, by increasing the fuel pressure, it will force more fuel through. Its that simple. you dont need to change ecus or injectors to make use of the different pressure reg.

had my car on the dyno today, im running the xr comp with the standard ecu and we could see the car leaning out. goin to get hold of a xr on and fit that should sort it out. but i think after today its obvious u do need them both together to make a good improvment
