what is the difference in engine internals between the XR6 turbo and the F6 Typhoon i bought an F6 recently and am looking into mods for more killerwasps but heard that once you crack the mid 300's in the xr6 motor, the rods tend to fail... is this a rumor... does the F6 have forged internals or is there no difference between the two.

All late model BF Turbos have exactly the same internals as the Typhoon. In earlier cars yes the rods are weaker.

of course they are forged....but that doesnt mean that they are the same strength....the design can be different but still be forged

dont f6s have the same rods as the LPG motors?

BA mki, BA mkii and BF XR6 Turbo pre 04/06 have the same rods (~330rwkw before things break)

where as post 04/06 BF XR6 Turbo has the same rods as the BA and BF F6 models. (~400rwkw)
from the BF onwards have the same spec valve springs as the BA and BF F6's

If you really want to boost it ??
You'll need H beam Forged rods and forged pistons...
